Inspired by the mysteries of the history of the Knights Templar and by its symbolism full of secret messages, start a journey of discovery of the Templar Treasures in Portugal!
The Order of the Temple established itself in Portugal in the XII century to help the first Portuguese kings in the Christian reconquest as a continuation of the Crusades. In 1160 they founded a castle in Tomar. It was similar to the fortification in the Holy land and it was the most modern and advanced military construction existing at the time. After two centuries in 1312, the Order of the Temple was dissolved by Pope Clement, since it was growing in power and reputation. Meanwhile the Order of Christ was founded in Portugal. It inherited all the Templars’ spiritual and material wealth and preserved their crusade spirit during the Portuguese great discoveries.

In the heart of Portugal, let yourself be guided by the stories that will lead you in the fantastic quest for the Holy Grail.
Come and visit the emblematic Castelo de Almourol, the small waterfront city of Constância and the mysterious Torre de Dornes situated between the Rio Tejo and its tributary Rio Zêzere. Tomar, in the past the meeting-point of the knights and the heroes of the quest of the Holy Grail, will now be the most important moment of this trip during which you discover astonishing monuments and landscapes.

Come and meet the best and bravest Christian knights who lived in the Convent of Christ (Convento de Cristo). Did you know that the “Charola” was built to look like the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, where the Order was founded? Is it here that the Templar secret has been hidden?
