The warm weather may help, but nights down by the river or sea are always something special. Bohemian nightlife in Lisbon has long been centred on the Bairro Alto district packed with distinctive styles and alternative music, now with fashion and design stores open late into the night.
Down by the river, in Docas, on Avenue 24 de Julho or at the Parque das Nações, there is so much people watching to be done in the bustling bars and discos. Latin music fans can strut their stuff at the Salsa Latina with plenty of alternative beats going on at the Blues Café, Docks, Indochina or Queens discos.
In Porto, the Ribeira district is the point of reference while there is plenty more going on just over the river.
The Bogani Café boasts spectacular views over the city. If you head towards Foz, then drop in on the Maré Alta, a floating bar/disco or the 31 Trintaeum night-club. And for dancing, Indústria continues to successfully defend a long established reputation.
The Algarve nightlife naturally peaks in the heat of the summer. Capítulo V boasts a dance floor that stretches out over the sea and the cosmopolitan mix at the Kadoc, Klube or UBI discos continues to prove successful. Look out for Lady’s Nights or the particular flavour of Foam or Sand Parties. Get into the groove and dance to the early hours!
