Lovers of naturism have, in the Algarve, some excellent beaches reserved for their use, such as Praia do Homem Nu at Ilha de Tavira or Praia das Adegas, in Odeceixe (Aljezur). In a protected countryside area, close to Salema, the Quinta dos Carriços campsite is located. This campsite, with a well defined and signposted boundary, is intended for the exclusive use of naturists.
If you want a little more adventure - but always with the utmost tranquility - try leaving the tarmac road between Salema and Vila do Bispo on one of the many dirt roads that go off in the direction of the sea.
As a general rule, these roads end next to paths that are usually no more than ten minutes away on foot from a small beach that is almost, or sometimes totally, deserted. There are many beaches in this area. Outside the beach-going times of day the Algarve also enjoys deserved fame for its nightlife.
