Short Break
Short Break
Place: Parque das Nações, Lisboa
Photo: John Copland Would you like to return to those times of romance and adventure? Then, Portugal is waiting for you.

Enjoy a few charming days by visiting Porto and the wine cellars in Gaia. Afterwards, go up the river to get acquainted with the estates where wine is produced. You will be dumbfounded by the river and the amphitheatre of the Douro valley. If you would like to prolong the romance, go to Buçaco: the mountain and the hotel will be yet another passion.

In Centro de Portugal region, you will find excellent reasons for a break in pure nature. From the walks to the "slide", the Estrela and other mountains will certainly be true adventures. Well you could simply catch a glimpse of a lynx in the Malcata mountain. Hush, don’t scare him!

In Lisbon, the graceful hills are reflected in the Tagus river and are ready to receive you. They offer medieval alleys and the river in its turn offers lively bars and esplanades.

The seaside resort of Estoril has a background of beautiful villas and chalets from the early 20th century. Here you can test your golf swings on one of the many courses in the region, almost as many as in the Algarve.

In the south, you can immerse yourself in the history and the culture of the country at night, too, because the pousadas have been established in castles, palaces and even convents. In Évora, a world heritage site, you can walk through the streets and squares, like the Praça do Giraldo. The Roman temple, the cathedral and other monuments are also worth a visit.

Three or four days and this is all just waiting for you in Portugal.
