The ‘Aroeira ll’ (in the Aroeira tourist complex) is a unique course in Portugal. It’s made with ‘Penn A2’ type turf, which can be cut to a length of two mm. Its long greens (some more than 700 m2) are regarded as faster and more challenging as a result. In addition to bunkers on the fairways, this tricky course includes five large lakes you’ll have to repeatedly drive over.
In Tróia, in the beautiful countryside of the Sado estuary, play a round on the magnificent links course. The hole three par four is considered by Robert Trent Jones to be one of the eighteen holes of his ‘ideal’ golf course.
After a day of golf, why not try the local main dish of fresh fish, in addition to Azeitão cheese and the excellent wines produced in the area?
