So if you want to combine an adrenalin rush with some healthy competition, go-karting is the answer. You can do it by day or night, rain or shine (although the experts say it is more fun at night in the rain).
Évora, Portalegre, Santo André and Serpa are the best go-karting places in the Alentejo. All have fast outdoor go-kart tracks with sharp curves, and range in length from 908 metres (Évora) to 1,425 metres (Serpa).
If go-karting isn’t for you though, you can still go along with the family.
All the four tracks in the Alentejo offer a range of other activities for all ages. A swim in the pool, slide or rappel climbing, table football and snooker are just some of the options.
One piece of advice: ignore your hunger and make sure you take the curves on an empty stomach. You can always try some of the regional delicacies once you’ve completed the course!
