Jardim Afonso de Albuquerque

Jardim Afonso de Albuquerque
With approximately 2 hectares it has in the centre the monument to Afonso de Albuquerque, Governor of Portuguese India from 1057 to 1515, by the sculptor Costa Mota and the neo-Manueline base by the architect Silva Pinto.

The square was remodelled for occasion of the "Portuguese World Exhibition" in 1940, resulting in its present shape, laid out around the four fountains attributed to the sculptor Barata Feyo.
