A person, with any motor, sensory or intellectual disability, who holds a valid drivers licence in Portugal, will be able to drive as long as he complies with the appropriate restrictions or adjustments.

Disabled Parking Permits, issued by any EU Member State to disabled people with any kind of incapacity, are recognised in Portugal. Parking bays reserved for Disabled People are indicated by signs. Parking in other places is permitted in the event of absolute necessity, as long as it is for short periods of time and does not disrupt the normal and free passage of pedestrians and vehicles.
