Discover the real Portugal, a country of golf and sunshine all year round, where you will find 70 courses, designed by prestigious architects and set in some truly delightful countryside.
In the Algarve, the region chosen by Hertz Awards for the Established Golf Destination of the Year 1999 and the venue for the Vilamoura or TAP Golf Weeks, one course just seems to follow on from the next one – some quite demanding, some more relaxing to play – as do the region’s many world-famous resorts. For this reason, the Victoria Clube de Golfe, designed by Arnold Palmer and located in a superb natural setting, is currently set to host a major international event, the World Golf Championship, from 15 to 20 November 2005.
If you’re an amateur golfer, a few days before this, there’s the Estoril International Week, held near Lisbon from 6 to 13 November. Similarly recognised by IAGTO, this region will also host the Costa Azul International Amateur Golf Week and the Lisbon Golf Festival, at which the 2005 champion claims never to have played on such high-quality courses before.
In the middle of autumn, Portugal’s mild and sun-filled climate will be waiting for you at the World Golf Championship. |
