Did you know that in Portugal we like to celebrate either with or without a calendar? For 365 days a year, in summer or winter, by night or by day, on the islands or on the mainland, Portugal is the venue for great events.
Surprise everyone at home and book a trip to Portugal. Travelling is the best possible break from routine and Portugal will welcome you with all kinds of entertainment and excitement.
If you’re a sports fan, how about starting your trip with a visit to the island of Madeira to watch yet another edition of the Madeira Islands Open Golf Tournament? If you prefer, you can take part in the Lisbon Half Marathon and enter the city running. But if you’re a horse lover, then head for Comporta to watch the Portugal Atlantic Tour 2010. And what about motor sports? In Águeda, we have the World Motocross Championship, while in the Algarve there’s the Portugal Superbikes Grand Prix. In this same region, you can also thrill to the 17th Women’s Football Mini-World Cup.
If you’re a film buff, then the place to be is Porto, where you won’t want to miss yet another edition of the Fantasporto film festival. And, if you want to keep up to date with the latest fashions, then don’t miss the Moda Lisboa fashion show in the Portuguese capital.
For those of you with a sweet tooth, we suggest a visit to the mediaeval town of Óbidos during the International Chocolate Festival. It’ll be delicious!
What are you waiting for? Come to Portugal and sample some of the country’s non-stop fun, if only because Carnival time is close at hand, or because the "Allgarve" entertainment programme will be starting up again at the end of February.
