Santuário da Senhora da Agonia
The Sanctuary is consecrated to Christ's Passion. The sanctuary in the past was known by other names, which are now little known - "Bom Jesus da Via Sacra" and "Nossa Senhora da Soledade".
The sanctuary includes a decorated altar panel by André Soares (1762-1763), eighteenth century golden engravings and oil paintings based on the Passion. The oldest ex-voto dates from 1733.
The most popular pilgrimage in the Minho region is that of Senhora da Agonias. The high points of this festival are the ethnographic procession, the march of "giants" and "big-heads" and finally the costume festival.
