Clube de Golfe Quinta da Marinha
The Quinta da Marinha course forms part of a luxury development, where you can spend a few days most pleasantly, for, besides enjoying a round of golf, you also have the possibility of horse-riding, lunching in the clubhouse or enjoying a pleasant stroll amidst the thousands of pine-trees planted here, with the great spectacle of the Atlantic Ocean as your constant companion.
Built by the architect Robert Trent Jones, who started with a flat terrain, the course was designed with five par-5 and six par-3 holes; the course’s most spectacular hole is the 13th, a 339-metre par 4 sloping down towards the sea and ending in a green that has the Atlantic Ocean as its backdrop. There are countless bunkers and some lakes to make things more difficult for the golfers, perhaps the best example being the 10th hole, where the green is surrounded by water.
This is an extremely beautiful hole, whose backdrop is the sea and the impressive outlines of the hills of Sintra in the distance.
