Tourism in a Manor House
At a distance from the busy tourist area, nestled within the fortress of Valença on one of the pilgrim routes to St James of Compostella, you will find the 17th century stately home "Casa do Poço".

Entirely restored and splendidly decorated, this charming house has been furnished with care and attention to detail.

Fine furniture, pictures and porcelain of the East India Company complement the building.

Six suites, all different, occupy the two principal floors. A library, rich with examples of original European texts, looks out onto a beautiful garden. The salon, games room, billiard room and terrace overlook the Minho, the natural frontier between Portugal and Spain and offer a privileged view of the Spanish citadel of Tuy.

If reserved, dinner can be provided.

Casa do Poço is more than simply somewhere to stay, it is an exceptional situation.
