Situated in the north of the country, Viana Marina is the first harbour encountered on the Portuguese coast by yachtsmen arriving from the North of Europe (30 miles from both Vigo and Leixões). It affords excellent conditions of shelter in all weathers and is equipped with all the necessary facilities.
The entrance channel at the bar of the harbour is marked with 14 buoys in keeping with the IALA (zone A) system, and provides access to the main dock, with 163 berths for boats up to 20 metres in length and with draughts of up to 3 metres. There is also another dock with 144 berths for boats no more than 6 metres in length and with draughts of up to 2 metres. Since the marina is close to the centre of Viana, visitors are perfectly situated to enjoy the city's rich historical heritage.
