LOULÉ. Territory, Memory, Identity

The exhibition titled "LOULÉ. Territórios, Memórias, Identidades (LOULÉ. Territory, Memory, Identity)", which may be seen from the 21st June 2017 to the 30th December 2018, represents the state of the art of archaeological investigation in Loulé municipality. It tells the story of the communities that were part of it in Pre-History and Middle Ages, based on the archaeological remains and documents conserved in the institutions that work hard to build the memory and identity of Loulé.

The history of the Archaeology of Loulé goes back to the pioneer work of Estácio da Veiga (1828-1891), who made a collection that was to be forever connected to the National Archaeology Museum, and presented now to the public.
