The 18th International Festival of the Azores returns in 2023 and reinvents itself. On the path to find new artistic directions, the FIA is thematically projected from the Atlantic and the diaspora, through various cultural routes to the USA, Brazil and many other artistic latitudes. FIA hosts some of the most renowned artists and ensembles in emblematic venues of the Azores archipelago, with concerts and shows that both traverse centuries of cultural history and musical tradition, as well as embark on the unknown land of contemporary creation. In addition to classical music, which has been FIA's common thread, this year the program is more eclectic, encompassing diverse languages - such as jazz, literature, and the performing arts. It will be through a comprehensive and broad set of activities that, for about three weeks, the edition in which the FIA comes of age will place the Azores at the epicenter of a great cultural celebration and reference.
This year you can count on performances by Artur Pizarro, Herman José, Luanda Cozetti, António Capelo among other shows that will be presented by the various islands of the Azores.
