This exhibition, without claiming to be retrospective, covers various periods of the author's work and career. Starting with three wax drawings executed in the early eighties of the twentieth century, it seeks to give a relatively broad, but not exhaustive, perspective of a path followed mainly in the areas of painting and sculpture, but also in video and installation, bringing to Centro Cultural de Lagos representative pieces of work from some phases of almost forty years of artistic production in the field of visual arts.

On purpose, the author chose to present exclusively works from his own personal collection or belonging to collectors, not creating any piece expressly conceived for this exhibition. In the same way, he chose not to follow exhibition criteria that would involve presenting them in chronological order (with the exception of the works that open and close the exhibition), preferring to put them in dialogue with each other, in an attempt to overcome the common thread that would tie them to the time and era in which they were conceived and made.

Thus, an exhibition is presented which, rather than seeking aesthetic, stylistic or temporal coherence, shows works, techniques and materials that have seduced the author over the years and challenged him to create a visual work that is desirably capable of questioning the viewer and living by itself, piece by piece, but constructed, naturally, step by step.
