Events

The Festa do Alvarinho e do Fumeiro de Melgaço (Melgaço Wine and Smoked Meats Festival) started, in 1995, as a showcase of local products for local people. Over the years and as the data show unequivocally, the FAFM has become a festival recognized nationally.
Producers of alvarinho and smoked meat from the sub-region Monção Melgaço are present in the Festival. Thanks to an adequate promotion of the event and some important partnerships, the FAFM is today an unavoidable event of the gastronomic feasts in the country, attracting people from all over the country and also a large number of Spanish people, especially from neighboring Galicia.
The event has a date scheduled for April 28,29, and 30, 2023.
These are days dedicated to alvarinho and Melgaço smoked meats, but also to the excellent cuisine and different experiences that the territory offers.
