The Vidigueira City Hall will organise on 7, 8 and 9 April the event VIDIGUEIRA WINE, which aims to promote the wines of the Vidigueira wine-growing sub-region, as well as other excellent products of the municipality and traditional gastronomy.

The programme of this initiative will include a Gastronomic Week, exhibition and sale of agro-food products, talks, wine tasting and musical shows.

All economic agents and producers of agri-food products may participate in this event, namely in the sectors of confectionery, bread, citrus fruits, cheese, wine, olive oil, honey, jams, liqueurs, homemade wines and sausages.

Exhibitors selling traditional handicrafts and/or produced using traditional raw materials, preferably with live work, may also participate.

With the organisation of "VIDIGUEIRA WINE", the municipality intends to achieve the following specific objectives promote the wine of the municipality of Vidigueira, as a tourist product, a promoter of economic development; divulge the richness of the local traditional cuisine; emphasise other agri-food products, namely bread, confectionary, oranges and olive oils of the region, important elements of our gastronomy and local economy; to promote the productive excellence of the territory in the field of wine production; to dignify the cante alentejano as a factor of promotion of the Alentejo culture; to value/dignify the carved wine and to promote/trade the local handicraft.
