The Bordalo Pinheiro Museum opens, on 18 March, at 3pm, the exhibition Fora do Quadrado. Bordalo and the Origins of Comics in Portugal, curated by Sónia Brochado (Museu Bordalo Pinheiro).

Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro stands out as a tutelary figure for the development of comics in Portugal. Through a path that spans his entire artistic career, we present in this exhibition a variety of graphic games and solutions, and multiple relationships between text and image, which even today are surprising for their degree of experimentation and creative freedom. We invite you to take a close look at the works brought together, certain that the originality and good humour of the author will guarantee amazement. Inside or outside the square.
