Sheltered by cliffs, Burgau Beach was formerly used as a fishing port although such activities are now restricted to the eastern section of the beach with the rest give over to sunbathers.
The beach, highly suited to bodyboarding, extends down below the fishing village whose houses rise up the slopes creating a colourful and characteristic environment.
