Casa das Hortas
Tours and Other Tourism Services
Casa das Hortas, founded in 1996 in the Baião sub‑region, has established itself as a benchmark producer of Vinho Verde, benefiting from a privileged location between the Douro and Minho rivers. Over nearly three decades, it has built an identity rooted in quality, authenticity, and a deep connection to the land. In 2024, it launched its wine tourism project, opening the doors to immersive experiences that go beyond wine tasting, integrating the gastronomy, culture, and natural landscape of Douro Verde.
Set within an environment of high biodiversity, with Alvarinho vineyards surrounded by native fauna and flora, the estate also stands out for its commitment to sustainability, aligned with the international certification awarded to the municipality of Baião. The visitor experience is enriched by a panoramic tasting room, guided tours of the bottling line, and walks through the vineyards, offering a complete understanding of the wine cycle.
The wine tourism offer is diverse, including guided tastings, picnics, and family‑friendly activities, all within an intimate and welcoming setting equipped with modern amenities and full accessibility. This ensures a comfortable, inclusive, and memorable experience for both national and international visitors.
Beyond the estate itself, Casa das Hortas positions itself as a gateway to the Baião region, highlighting its natural heritage — mountains, rivers, and forests — as well as its historical and cultural richness, traditional craftsmanship, and authentic, identity‑driven gastronomy.
More than a wine producer, Casa das Hortas offers an integrated, sensory experience in which wine harmoniously intertwines with the landscape, tradition, and hospitality of the region.
