In the northern part of the Island of Santa Maria, the Bay of Anjos offers waters at very pleasant temperatures that invite relaxing bathing in view of Ponta do Frades. This bathing area also has a natural pool and support amenities for people with reduced mobility.
The Bay of Anjos is furthermore a place of historic interest, since the small chapel where Christopher Columbus had a mass prayed on his return from discovering America is located here.
