Every year, the Festas Grandes em Honra do Senhor dos Aflitos (Great Festivities in Honor of the Lord of the Afflicted) enliven the town of Lousada. There is something for everyone, with drums, giant figures and big heads, a fair and livestock competition, a solemn mass and procession, fanfare and marching bands, light music artists, cycling races, and even a luminous march. There will also be fireworks and one of the highlights when, on Sunday night, the Monte do Senhor dos Aflitos is lit up by thousands of small bowls.

This year's musical lineup includes Mariza, João Pedro Pais, Rosinha, Kevinho, and Sambinha do Zé.
