An icon for several generations, Laurie Anderson is a multifaceted artist, working as a writer, director, composer, visual artist and vocalist. Throughout her career, she has developed innovative works that integrate theater, experimental music and technology. She has created numerous performances for the stage, published ten books and been nominated five times for a Grammy.

Her visual work has been exhibited internationally, most notably her major solo exhibitions at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C., and the Moderna Museet in Stockholm. In 2024, she was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Recording Academy, which organizes the Grammy Awards.
