This exhibition looks not only at the art of Manuel Cargaleiro, one of the greatest 20th century Portuguese artists, but also at his more personal dimension, by presenting some of the works of other artists he collected and by recreating his workspace at Quinta da Silveira de Baixo, in Almada. Visitors can also see works temporarily loaned by the Manuel Cargaleiro Foundation and a joint work with Vhils, an artist who was born in the municipality of Seixal.

The exhibition focuses on the master's last works, which he himself donated to the municipality. They are representative of various media and techniques, including studies and drawings, and were made in different periods. The works by other artists on display here emphasize Manuel Cargaleiro's collecting side. You can see works by illustrious artists such as Sonia Delaunay, Marcelle Cahn, Vieira da Silva, Arpad Szenes, Nathalia Goncharova, Zao Wou-Ki, Júlio Resende, Armando Alves, José Escada, René Bértholo, Lourdes Castro, José Rodrigues, Eduardo Luiz and Pedro Avelar.
