Avishai Cohen is back with a new quintet and a mission: to reveal a new generation of emerging talent in international jazz. After the debut of this new line-up at the prestigious Jazz à Marciac 2024, the talented Israeli bassist is now presenting this new group to the Portuguese public. Avishai Cohen is recognized worldwide for his unique fusion of jazz, Mediterranean tradition, folk and classical influences, and his career has been marked by remarkable collaborations and by discovering and training new musicians. The quintet includes Itay Simhovich, a young 20-year-old pianist; Yonatan Voltzok, a virtuoso trombonist; Yuval Drabkin, a saxophonist with a distinctive tone; and Eviatar Slivnik, an Israeli drummer and composer renowned for his rhythmic sensitivity and versatility.
