Três Vozes (Three Voices) is a work composed in 1982 by Morton Feldman, a central figure in 20th century musical experimentalism.
Linked to the New York avant-garde, the composer collaborated with artists such as John Cage, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Philip Guston. Dedicated to singer Joan La Barbara, the work pays tribute to Philip Guston and Frank O'Hara. Written for one live voice and two pre-recorded voices, it includes fragments of a poem by O'Hara.
Text is rare and brief; wordless vocalizations predominate, with neutral vowels and long, static sounds. The aesthetic favors silence, duration, timbral subtlety and contemplative listening.
