Events

The Chicharro Festival has been held in Ribeira Quente since 1988 and is one of the biggest festivals in the town of Povoação and on São Miguel Island. It is a very popular event among the Azorean public, attracting thousands of people from the region, but also tourists.

This year's edition once again brings three days of great music and delicious local cuisine, with an emphasis on products from the sea, the star of the festival being, of course, chicharro, a delicious fish typical of the region, cooked in a variety of ways.
