This exhibition brings together works by Paula Rego, Jorge Queiroz, and Sue Williams - three artists who, despite the differences in their artistic languages, share visual worlds with a surrealist sensibility, where the absence of a hierarchical structure allows for the emergence of open, personal, and free narratives.

Blurring the lines between drawing, painting, and the evocation of the unconscious, his works bring together memory, fiction, and experience, exploring different ways of constructing images and narratives and affirming creative freedom as a common principle. Curated by Luís Pinto Nunes and coordinated by Carlos Magalhães, the exhibition is part of the Serralves Collection’s Traveling Exhibitions Program, bringing its collection to audiences across the country.
