A Mind in the Heart (TRPTK, 2026) marks Joana Gama’s return to solo recording following Arcueil (2019).
The album features eight pieces by Serbian composer Ivan Vukosavljević, inspired by a period of profound personal change marked by the birth of his daughter. Influenced by the Orthodox Christian tradition and drawing on the thought of Meister Eckhart, the work offers an intimate and contemplative musical experience. Joana Gama’s interpretation reveals affinities with the worlds of composers such as Erik Satie, John Cage, and Federico Mompou, exploring the delicacy, spirituality, and meditative dimension of the music.
