Until I'm Free: Love Letters and Resistance
Events
Casa da Cidade is presenting an exhibition that brings together letters, drawings, photographs, objects, and various documents created during periods of imprisonment and exile. This collection of testimonies takes visitors on a journey through the history of resistance to the dictatorship, through the experiences of Almada residents who opposed the regime.
Drawing on personal memories and historical documents, the exhibition recounts episodes and life stories marked by political persecution, life in hiding, imprisonment, and exile. The materials on display offer insight into different forms of resistance and shed light on individual stories that are part of Almada’s collective memory and the struggle for freedom and democracy.
