Events

The new project of the ensemble Na Rota do Peregrino, under the direction of Daniela Tomaz (Ensemble Med) and the musical direction of medievalist Maurício Molina (City University of New York), is entitled "As Canções de D. Dinis, o Rei Trovador". Inspired by the commemorations of the 700th anniversary of the death of King Dinis (1261-1325) in 2025, the program revives his seven love songs, reconstructed from Sharrer's fragments, with historical pronunciation and instrumental accompaniment. The repertoire also includes works from the Cantigas de Santa Maria, the troubadour/trouvère tradition and the Codex Calixtinus, placing the king's compositions in their medieval cultural and musical context.
