The Vinhais Smoked Meat Fair, which has been held in this town in Trás-os-Montes since 1981, will take place in 2026 between February 5th and 8th.
Vinhais is known as the capital of smoked meats, due to the high quality of this product, which is justified by the region's climate, the raw material and the seasoning, which is different from seasonings in other regions, as it is made in garlic vines, with water, wine, garlic, salt and bay leaves. The smoked meats are made with Bisaro pork, an indigenous and protected breed, which is the king of this festival. As well as exhibiting and selling products, this fair offers a vast program of activities.
